CAMPS FOR 2019
Summer Art Immersion Day Camps
2019 Happy Makings Summer Art Immersion Day Camps!
These sessions are Monday through Friday 9-3.
All sessions will be centered around building our ceramics skills. Each week will have
other components built into the theme such as painting,
drawing, art journaling, and crafts.
Camp cost is $300 per week.
Ages 9 and up.
Week One:
COLOR explosion - Surface design and printing -
June 10th to the 14th
Art Making skills we will work on:
Beginning and advanced throwing on the pottery wheel, interested students will have
extended time on the wheels to advance their skills in throwing.
Hand building ceramics with a slab roller and extruder
Finding color and pattern inspiration in nature and beyond
Sketching and reference drawing, creating color combinations and palettes
Stamp carving, and block printing
Marbeling with glaze and other experimentations
Stencil making for use on the ceramic surface, fabric and in mixed media painting
Metal stamping
Collage
and much more!
Week Two:
MAKE! A week of making ALL THE THINGS -
June 17th to the 21st
Art making skills we will work on:
Beginning and advanced throwing on the pottery wheel, interested students will have
extended time on the wheels to advance their skills in throwing.
Hand building ceramics with a slab roller and extruder
Painting, drawing and mixed media art journaling
Paint marbling on fabric
Metal stamping
Paint Pouring
Candle making
Terrazo colored clay exploration and much more!

objects as reference and tools in mixed media painting
Exploring artists
who use nature in their work.

Huntington Library
and Gardens
Creating
Characters and Creatures June 26th to the 30th
We will explore
visual representation, create new characters and creatures, self portraits and
portraits of favorite friends or animals.

Japan,
Animae and Manga Mash Up July 17st – 21st
